When replacing a work computer with a new one, it may be useful to transfer all data between these computers.

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Let us call PC1 the computer from where to copy data and PC2 the target computer.
  2. Install the GPS program on PC2 (see software setup). Note: the version of the GPS program must be the same as or later than the one on the source computer.
  3. On PC1, go to Tools menu / Folders / Open data folder... A window containing several folders will appear.
  4. Close GPS on PC1; do not start GPS again during data copy; otherwise, some data may not be copied properly.
  5. On PC1, from the opened window, select folders Db and CfgMod, and copy them on a USB key or use any other system to copy data to transfer onto PC2. (See also GPS folders and files)
  6. On PC2, go to Tools menu / Folders / Open data folder... A window containing several folders will appear.
  7. Close GPS on PC2; do not start GPS again during data copy; otherwise, some data may not be copied properly.
  8. On PC2, from the opened window, select folders Db and CfgMod, delete them and copy the Db and CfgMod folders that were previously saved.
  9. On PC2 start GPS and check the transferred data.
