When replacing a work computer with a new one, it may be useful to transfer all data between these computers.
The procedure is as follows:
- Let us call PC1 the computer from where to copy data and PC2 the target computer.
- Install the GPS program on PC2 (see software setup). Note: the version of the GPS program must be the same as or later than the one on the source computer.
- On PC1, go to Tools menu / Folders / Open data folder... A window containing several folders will appear.
- Close GPS on PC1; do not start GPS again during data copy; otherwise, some data may not be copied properly.
- On PC1, from the opened window, select folders Db and CfgMod, and copy them on a USB key or use any other system to copy data to transfer onto PC2. (See also GPS folders and files)
- On PC2, go to Tools menu / Folders / Open data folder... A window containing several folders will appear.
- Close GPS on PC2; do not start GPS again during data copy; otherwise, some data may not be copied properly.
- On PC2, from the opened window, select folders Db and CfgMod, delete them and copy the Db and CfgMod folders that were previously saved.
- On PC2 start GPS and check the transferred data.
