Foreword

The USBXPress driver is normally installed with the GPS: see Installing the USBXPress driver. The driver update procedures are described in this section of the manual.

Updating the driver

A new version of the USBXPress driver may be available after updating the GPS program.

Generally speaking, you do not have to install or check whether a new driver version exists compared to that currently installed on the computer: this operation can be performed to solve a known problem or on suggestions from the GPS technical support.

To install a new version of the driver, you can choose one of these two methods:

Installation wizard using a program

You can install the driver using a program, included in the GPS installation package, which automatically installs the driver.

You can find this program, called USBXpressInstaller.exe, inside the program folder (see GPS folders and files) Support\Drivers\SiUSBX.; see Folders to find out the exact location of the program folder.

Manual driver installation

Any USB drivers can be installed manually according to this procedure:

open the device management window from Windows control panel; you should find it in system management
look for the USBXPress element under the USB controllers (N.B. PoData must be physically connected)
right-click to choose driver update
the new version of the driver is written during GPS setup in the support folder inside the program folder (see also GPS folders and files); see Folders to find out the exact location of the program folder.
